When it comes to displaying search results for a given search, the search engines display a few lines of relevant text for each item found.

In normal results (not for local map results), the first line is the title of the site (normally as defined in the html tag ‘Title”), followed by the website name. Immediately under the website name are typically two lines of text which are the ‘description’. Google describes this as a ‘snippet’ of relevant text describing the website.

This description is very important, as potential website visitors usually make an instant decision whether to go to a website based on how relevant the text is. Often sites which sound like another directory or poor quality affiliate site are passed over for a better sounding website.

Treat this description as a ‘mini-headline’ offering potential visitors both relevant content and a benefit to visit your site.

By adding a quality description into the html ‘description’ tag, you can help a visitor, rather than allow the search engine to pick some text to use in the description, which may not be what you want.

Groupon (and many copycat companies) coupons offer a daily deal with discounts up to 80% off normal prices. Clearly a great deal for consumers who take advantage of them. But what about the small business owner? Yes there is a big surge of ‘instant’ customers, but a recent study shows that many of these customers are ‘deal seekers’, who use the coupon, don’t spend more than the coupon face value, and never return. If you consider the amount of discount that the small business owner needs to make, plus the fact the small business owner has to pay the credit card merchant fees, is responsible for tax, and the majority of any liability, then maybe not such a great deal for the small business?

One other factor is that a huge-discount coupon can easily upset your regular customers. How do you think it will make your current regular paying customers feel when they find out you are offering the same service at 50+% off?

Competing on price alone is not a long-term strategy for success. You need to build up your brand (rather than discounting it), build loyal customers and offer great value. People will pay full price when they feel they are taken care of and there is good value. So for long-term growth, don’t make massive discounts, instead invest in your own marketing and brand name on the internet, where people are looking now…

Here’s a reality check, or checklist, regarding your business. You can mentally tick a Yes or No to each of these…

__ I have a website that perfectly showcases what my business is.

The face of your website is the face of your business. It should reflect what your business is and does, and what your values are. This is important to remember as more and more people search via the Internet.

__ My website has professional graphics and design and looks beautiful.

Image is important. It doesn’t have to be all slick and over-the-top but it should be professional enough to be engaging and evoke trust.

__ New people are visiting my site every day.

People, aka traffic, are important to your business. Get that traffic through various marketing methods.

__ I sell products from my website.

You’re not just selling products but also your services and your brand.

__ I look at my site’s stats and know where my customers are coming from.

Knowing how people are finding your site means you can beef up the weak areas or put extra time and resources in the strong areas.

__ I use social media and there are links on my site.

At the very least you’ll want to consider getting on Twitter and putting up a Facebook fan page.

__ I collect names and email addresses of my site visitors so I can market to them down the line.

This is huge! Offer something people want in exchange for their email address and you’ll have a targeted list of people who are interested in what you have to offer.

__ Other websites have links to my site.

This is called backlinking and it helps your site get higher up in the search rankings. The better your site sits in Google, the more traffic you get.

Don’t feel bad if you marked many of these No. You’re not alone. But you can turn that around and make these all Yeses and get ahead of your competitors. I’m here to answer your questions.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) refers to any efforts that are required to try and get your web site into the top rankings of Google (and others) search engine listing results when someone searches for your “keyword phrases”.

Everyone loves successful search engine optimization, because you can get lots of traffic…and…it’s free! The problem is, that no one really knows how Google decides where to rank your site and when it will show up. Any expert that tells you that they know exactly how Google’s ranking works and/or guarantees that you’ll get into the top spots (for a fee, of course), is being less than truthful. Even so, there are proven techniques that you can employ to get your site into the top of the listings. We believe in being very transparent about what we’re doing and why we’re doing it, so we’ll show you exactly what we’re doing, and why it helps to skyrocket you right to the top!

Business owners have big challenges when it comes to search engine optimization:

Often, Google doesn’t even know their site exists (this is VERY common)

Even if Google does know about their site, it never shows up in search engine listings.

Even if their site does show up in some kind of search, it’s hardly ever the “keyword phrase” that the owner would like

Even if the owner could dictate to Google what keywords to show the site for, most business owners don’t know which words and phrases are the money makers!

All is not gloom and doom however! With a little help, you can start to overcome all of these issues. Check out our plan on How to dominate your market to see what we advise.

Get To Page 1 Today With Pay per Click Advertising Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising consists of ads (when you do a Google search, they show up on the right hand side of the page) that are written by advertisers …

Get To Page 1 Today With Pay per Click Advertising

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising consists of ads (when you do a Google search, they show up on the right hand side of the page) that are written by advertisers to be triggered when certain keywords or phrases are searched on. Each time a person clicks on the ad, they are sent to the advertiser’s website, and the advertiser is charged for that “click”.

Pay per click advertising can be a VERY profitable way to increase sales and leads (if done correctly).

It’s fast – you can have a campaign up and running in less than 30 minutes. Getting your site into the search engine listings can take weeks or even many months depending on the competition level.

If you understand how to manage a pay per click campaign, you can have immediate feedback and metrics to determine the return on your investment. You can see exactly how much money you’re spending, what your potential customers are doing online, and what sales you’ve made. If you think about advertising in the Yellow pages, it’s the exact opposite…with the Yellow pages, you never even know if anyone sees your ad!

It can tell you what the money terms are! How do you even know what search terms you want to optimize your site for?

You can test them quickly and easily with a pay per click campaign, and then apply that knowledge to your search engine optimization efforts.

Pay per click advertising needs to be a part of every business owners’ Internet advertising campaign. Unfortunately, managing even a small pay per click campaign can be complex and require very specialized knowledge and experience. There are several problems that the novice advertiser runs into.

Google’s rules and tips and tricks to work within them – Google doesn’t make it easy to advertise. There are lots of unwritten rules for how Google likes campaigns to be set up and run. These rules have a direct impact on how much you’ll pay for the advertising. If not respected and understood, many campaigns are doomed to be unprofitable. These rules include:

Keyword grouping

Quality score

Ad relevancy

Click through rate management

Bid pricing

And many more…

Keyword research – I guarantee that if you’re already using adwords, you’re leaving out important keywords in your campaign.

If you have 10-30 keywords currently, you should most likely be bidding on 500-1,000. It’s that big of a difference when you have access to the right tools and strategies.

Ad testing – If you’re not split testing (comparing a control to a candidate, or a different ad to see which is better), you’re most likely getting only ½ the visitors to your site than you should be.

Conversion tracking – Most business owners don’t know how to track whether a dollar spent on advertising generated any sales. Obviously, without this information, you’re flying blind.

Tools – There are several very important tools in the market to help create and manage pay per click campaigns. The problem is that they are expensive, and don’t make financial sense for one business owner managing one campaign.

Only sending visitors to the home page – There are probably many different types of potential customers for your products and services. Sending them all to a generic home page isn’t nearly as effective as sending them to a targeted page that tells them exactly how you can solve their particular problem.

Our services our designed to help you manage your pay per click campaign. Check out or strategy on how to dominate your market to see what we can do to use pay per click advertising to boost your profits today!
